Latest Updates

The Satya Niketan building collapse in Delhi has raised serious questions over safety enforcement and administrative accountability after seven people, including five Delhi University students and two labourers, lost their lives. According to the Live Hindustan report, Delhi Police had written to the Mehrauli SDM on June 17, nearly three months before the tragedy, flagging safety concerns in Satya Niketan, where several PGs and cafés were allegedly operating without Fire Safety NOCs and adequate safety measures. Police had requested early action and offered assistance for inspections. However, SDM Rahul Rathore denied receiving the letter, while the MCD did not respond to questions about it.

The report also highlights that 13 district-level committees had been formed after the earlier Hauz Rani fire to inspect establishments for safety violations. After the Satya Niketan collapse, the building was found to have no Fire NOC, while at least 20 other multi-storey buildings in Satya Niketan and Motibagh reportedly required Fire NOCs but had not applied for them. The police FIR alleges that four additional floors had been illegally added to the nearly 50-year-old building and that an unauthorised wall was removed shortly before the collapse.

Watch the full story for all the key details and developments.

#SatyaNiketan #SatyaNiketanCollapse #SatyaNiketanPG #DelhiBuildingCollapse #DelhiPGCollapse #DelhiUniversity #DUStudents #DelhiPolice #MCD #FireNOC #FireSafety #IllegalConstruction #StudentSafety #DelhiNews #DelhiGovernment #PGSafety #DelhiPG #StudentNews #OneIndiaHindi

~GR.508~HT.408~VG.HM~
