Description

The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sanctioned 604 crore rupees to repair, rebuild, and upgrade 3,126 council-run primary and upper primary schools across the state. A first installment of over 302 crore rupees has already been released. Out of the total fund, 344 crore rupees is allocated for 2,243 primary schools, amounting to roughly 15 lakh rupees per school. The initiative aims to improve learning environments and ensure students do not study in dilapidated buildings. District and state-level committees will monitor the construction work. This move follows campaigns exposing poor school infrastructure across the country, making Uttar Pradesh the first state to take large-scale financial action.
