Northern Utah Tornado Hits Fruit Heights as Massive Hail and 78 MPH Winds Strike

<p>A confirmed tornado touched down near Fruit Heights in Davis County, Utah, as severe thunderstorms battered northern Utah on September 18. The tornado was reported near 7,500 feet elevation, close to Francis Peak, while another funnel cloud was also spotted in the area.</p><p>The powerful storms brought massive hail, torrential rain and damaging winds across the Wasatch Front. Hail measuring 1.5 inches was reported near Farmington and Kaysville, while a 78 mph wind gust was recorded near West Bountiful.</p><p>Flooding and water ponding were also reported along parts of Interstate 15 as severe weather moved across northern Utah.</p><p>This video shows tornado and funnel-cloud footage, large hail, intense rainfall and severe storm conditions across Utah.</p>
