Description

Jaat" is a high-octane action thriller that sets the stage with a gripping narrative. The film opens in 2009, following the end of the Sri Lankan civil war, where former LTTE operative Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda) discovers hidden gold. He and his men massacre the Sri Lankan army to seize it, later bribing officials to establish themselves as Indian citizens in Andhra Pradesh. Ranatunga then builds a criminal empire in the coastal village of Motupalli, terrorizing the locals. When SI Vijaya Lakshmi attempts to arrest him, she and her team are captured and humiliated. The President of India receives a letter and severed thumbs demanding protection from Ranatunga, prompting the deployment of CBI officer Sathya Moorthy to investigate.
