AI vs human news anchors

Artificial intelligence (AI) news presenters appearing on screen for some of China’s state television programmes have been modelled on flesh-and-blood anchors, including Qiu Hao. Now the Xinhua  news agency says it plans to expand its team of AI newsreaders, despite questions about whether they will ever be able to replace humans in such roles.<br />(Photos: AP/Xinhua)
