China's AI-generated news anchors

These news anchors in China can broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week… because they are computer-generated. Unveiled by state-run news network Xinhua this week, the "AI synthesized anchors" are based on real people, but their faces and voices are created artificially. Developer Sogou says the software learns a human anchor’s voice and facial expressions by watching his newscasts.
